La Maison

A Spiritual Luxury House

MAATÏ MAATÏ is based on the Ionian Islands, a quiet archipelago along the western edge of Greece where Europe has long come to retreat, think and begin again.

Here, between Mandouri Island (once home to the poet Aristotelis Valaoritis) and Skorpios, the former private island of Aristotle Onassis, the Ionian Sea carries the memory of another rhythm of life. There was a time when Maria Callas arrived here by boat, when Jackie Kennedy spent summers beneath the cypress trees, and when the Ionian coast quietly gathered artists, shipowners, intellectuals and old European families escaping the noise of the continent. That atmosphere has never fully disappeared.

The sea remains impossibly clear.
The light moves slowly across the mountains.
Life follows the pace of wind and water.

Just beyond these shores lies Ithaki - the mythical homeland of Odysseus - where Homer’s Odyssey reminds us that every meaningful journey ultimately leads back to what is essential.

It is within this landscape that MAATÏ MAATÏ now operates.

From Berlin to the Ionian Sea, the Maison continues its evolution: designing objects and rituals shaped by both cultural depth, frequency and elemental simplicity.

Origins

MAATÏ MAATÏ was established in 2017 with a singular intention:
to elevate spirituality beyond cliché and anchor it in design, material integrity and presence.

The house began with the first handcrafted premium cork yoga mats - an object created to bring together natural materials, quiet design and intentional practice.

Spiritual Luxury was founded. A house devoted to the idea that spiritual objects deserve the same level of design consideration as any other cultural artifact.

Our Philosophy

We believe spirituality deserves structure. Design deserves depth. And objects deserve intention. Every piece created under the Maison is designed to endure: aesthetically, materially and energetically. MAATÏ MAATÏ creates to accompany a lifetime of practice rather than a season of consumption. No mass production. No trend cycles.
Considered editions only.

The Architecture of the House

MAATÏ MAATÏ operates as a curated Maison composed of distinct yet connected pillars:

The MAATÏ MAATÏ Signature Collections:
Foundational pieces that define the house.

Limited Editions:
Rare releases, produced in controlled quantities.

NECTÅÅR — The House Apothecary:
A ritual-focused sub-house crafting frequency-infused oils and elixirs.

The Sacred Space:
The physical embodiment of the Maison. A salon for ritual, gathering and reflection.

Founder-Led

MAATÏ MAATÏ remains independently built and founder-led by Leonie Lepenos.

Guided from The Ionian Islands.

MAATÏ MAATÏ remains independently built and founder-led by Leonie Lepenos.

Originally founded in Berlin, the Maison is now guided from the Ionian Islands — where Mediterranean mythology, island silence and European cultural memory form the backdrop of its creative direction. Creative direction, aesthetic language and strategic vision remain rooted in long-term authorship rather than external trend forecasting. This ensures continuity, integrity and depth.

The house develops its work through long-term authorship and continuity.

The Future of the House

MAATÏ MAATÏ expands slowly.
Through curated distribution, selective collaborations and experiential formats that remain faithful to the spirit of the Maison. The house was never designed for rapid consumption. It was designed to remain.

Between the mythology of the Ionian Sea and the discipline of European design culture, MAATÏ MAATÏ continues its intuitive journey.
